Promise to pay

Also: PTP · payment commitment

A promise to pay is a customer's stated commitment to pay an invoice by a specific date.

A promise without a date is not a promise. 'It is in our queue' should be answered with 'what date should I expect it?' and the date recorded. Follow up the morning after a missed promise date; a broken promise is a stronger signal than an unanswered reminder.
