Invoice dispute

An invoice dispute is a customer's objection to some or all of an invoice, usually about scope, amount, quality, timing, or paperwork.

Most disputes are questions rather than refusals, and most are paperwork (missing PO, wrong entity) or scope confusion. The rule: stop reminders on the disputed invoice immediately, get the objection in writing, resolve or reissue within a business day, and restart the sequence from a fresh due date. Never let one contested line item hold up the undisputed balance.
