Cash conversion cycle

Also: CCC

The cash conversion cycle is the number of days between paying for the inputs to a sale and collecting the cash from the customer.

For a service business with no inventory, the cycle is roughly DSO minus DPO: how long you wait to be paid, less how long you take to pay. Staffing agencies that run weekly payroll and net-60 clients have long cycles by construction; shortening DSO is the main lever.

Formula

CCC = Days inventory outstanding + DSO − DPO (for services, inventory is usually zero)
